Unsold Russian coins at Stack's auction

Let me just chime in and say I believe Stacks is getting a bit cagey about their auctions of late. I do not follow the Russian coins in their auction, but do follow the Scottish coins and have bid on them, thinking I was the high bidder then finding out the lot was withdrawn by the consignor. I have to think it does more with the lots being consigned by a favoured consignor or something, because they are seemingly setting "invisible reserves" and if it doesn't meet that amount they do not sell the coin. I have tracked several Scottish coins from recent sales that have in the past few months appeared in three different Stacks auctions where they do not sell despite their having bids yet no reserves were seemingly set

There is nothing more undoing than believing you were the high bidder, that there was no reserve, and that you are going to acquire a piece for your collection, only to find out after emails back and forth that the consignor pulled the auction, and seemingly does after the lot closed.

Similar situations are being purported with Heritage of late, perhaps the economy is dictating that people and or the auction houses are performing otherwise unsavory activities?

Here's the link to the lots at Sixbid:

Were these really all unsold? Withdrawn? Anybody know? :ninja:

I think it's computer failure. I observed some lots on this auction. For example, lot #4850 shows "unsold" under this link. But it is incorrect, price realised - $1,955:

OK, thanks everyone -- I will try to get the information directly from Stack's website.
