Alexandre Fafard
I just came accross a special 1899 5 cents varieties that were unknown to me so far. Regular date, High last 9 and High 99. I have looked through my collection and found that about all of them were regular dates. However, I have one high last 9 and two high 99. 2009 Charltons Catalog do not mention anything about those varieties and none are to be found on eBay. Anyone knows what they are worth? Alexandre Fafard
Well spotted, that deserves a high 5 But please check out this LINK TO HIGH 9 no mention of high 99 though. Thank you but I am not the one who found this variety. I simply saw it in my coin software. Here is the picture that can be found in the software database : I have already visited the link you mention. It does specify the existence of the variety but do not say anything about population or value.
Alexandre Fafard
For those whare interested in this variety. There is a section about Victoria 5 cents varietiesin the 64th edition of the Charlton catalog. There seems to be no such thing as high 9. It's either Normal Date, Normal date High 99 or Wide date High 99. They price about all the same.
