I have had this one for some time now and it graded at PCGS a MS63

Were there any proofs made for this year?

Is this a proof?

Maybe the coin has a typical proof like strike?

I thought I would run it by you guy's to see what you think.

Doubtful that this is a proof; PCGS is pretty good at determining such. The

superb 1908 Blank sale, whose owner had collected both proof and uncirculated

for all copper and silver coins of the 19th century, did not have an 1846

proof rouble. He did have the 1845 and 1847 roubles in proof, however.

If others years are known in proof - 1846 is NOT a big exception from this list.

If so far no one seen it - check coinarchieves, monety i medali, auction sale catalogs for last few decades, do your homework a little bit as I did, I checked few today in order to answer to you and then I asked myself - you could do so as well. I do not want to say someting regards your question "Is this a proof" - but this you can definetly find out from a little, very little your own search on a difference between proof and MS condition.

I hope you consider above as a friendly advise :ninja:

NGC Census Report suggests that there is at least one coin graded as proof PF62.

Thank you Kit,

I was gonna add that how many more of theses are sitting in Russia uncapsulated - nobody knows.
