Hi all I have had a great weekend detecting in Cumbria and found this belting Hammered Gold coin :ninja:

It is a James the VI 1604-1609 9th Coinage Thistle Crown (48 Scottish shillings) in pure gold ;) 1.9g

I would like to ask you all .. What grade would you say the coin was as there is a HUGE difference in value between F and VF and i cannot make my mind up ;)

enjoy the pictures

I would personally say a good fine. The weaknesses prevent it from being VF. So I would say F+.

Congratulations on finding it by the way!! :ninja:
