bobh
This seller is also offering a fake Gangut rouble for sale; wonder how much chance there is of this one being genuine? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=170258954693
gxseries
There seems to be some kind of trend to mix a "scarce" or "rare" counterfeit coin with a bunch of cheap genuine coins to lower the doubt of counterfeit. I like the overstruck 2 kopek coin though.
RW Julian
This seller is also offering a fake Gangut rouble for sale; wonder how much chance there is of this one being genuine? In July another buyer bought a Gangut from this seller at over £300. One wonders what the chances are of this other piece being genuine? kopeikin
Guys, Can you please share with me how you knew Gangut and other rouble are counterfeits? Coins look so real to me. I want to make sure I do not get fooled in the future.

On the counterfeit the tail feather points to the right of the letter A of MOHETA while on the genuine the tail feather points directly at the A. sturzny
The edge lettering looks uneven as well.

He has a rather benign look on the genuine coin, but on thiis fake he looks quite angry! (IMHO) There might be other fakes of this one out there, but this is the one you usually see. And the tail feather is a dead give-away.
