Cherry Picker
Not sure what I found here.! This Roosevelt has a real powdery finish, almost looks like play $$.. It appears the nicks in this coin is from the minting process as they have the same finish when viwed thru a 12x loop. What type of error is this? Cherry Picker
No one knows anything about this? I can not seem to find any info on this coin.! FWIW, the coin shows doubling & obvious damage from minting (not shown real well in photo).. As for the rough texture, I havent found another like it.! So, I assume this coin is either one of a kind or very commen & not worth mentioning?? Any help would be appreciated..
LostDutchman
my guess is that it is post mint damage...maybe an acid dip or something... doesn't look like any mint error I have seen on modern coinage.

That would explain the finish.! I checked the edge of the coin & the finish is the same there, so thats a very good possibility.. Thanks,Cherry Picker..
