Lucille
Sent into PCGs.. This one has wonderful color and some very very strong luster, it sparkles like a jewel as it is being rotated...

Lucille
MS64/65 Weak strike/old die? Luster looks great in the pictures, could barely imagine it in hand! As the fifties progressed, the master die lost detail, this can be seen if one were to line up Frankies from 1949 - 1959... The late fifties Frankies head was smooth and lacke dthe hair detail found when the master die was in pristine condition. The Mint reworked the die in 1960, bringing back the lost detail however they did do such a good job on the reverse, making full bell lines tough to comeby in the 60's..... This coin I have image has knockout luster, some of the best my eyes have seen, and I have seen literally thousands of Franklin half dollars... Burks
Thanks for the information. Franklins are a dark area in my collection. Come to think of it, I only have one that is AU at best.
ccg
A nice 64 IMO, so that'd be a PCGS
Lucille
This Franklin has the strongest luster I have ever seen on a Frankie, my rather poor images don't do this winner justice... It truely must be seen in person.... I knew this was a homerun hitter, and PCGs agreed:
