thedeadpoint
Hmm.. that is odd. too round to seem like a die crack. The 0 does look somewhat doubled.
Corina
Yeah i know this is an odd error i've never seen anything like it before The 0 is not doubled just has a blob on the upper right hand corner The blob is part of the 0 I usually find die chips, die cracks, filled dies,ETC... but i have never run across this type of error before
thedeadpoint
The 0 is not doubled just has a blob on the upper right hand corner I was looking at underneath the top of the "0" - I see a crescent running from 12 o'clock to about 1 millimeter to the right. Corina
Well seems that the coin has other defects in it On the front a small die crack, also the coin has die flow on both sides, also the coin has a tiny lamanation error on the rim I'll check the coin out better later to see if this coin holds anymore errors The back seems just to have this unknown blob
gxseries
Can't it just be a dot on the die i.e. gorged out somehow and hence leaving a blob? Nevertheless, quite interesting. Thanks
foundinrolls
this is a negative scan of a 1874 german 10 pefinng look at the 0 and see that there is a blob on the right upper hand corner What happened? Hi, Its a small die chip. A spot breaks out of the die causing a raised area on any coin struck by that die. In this case, the part that broke out of the die was shaped like a dot. Have Fun, Bill
