jlueke
Does anyone know the federal reserve bank's policy for accepting coins in exchange for notes? Do you mean going to a FRB branch and bringing in some coins?

cladking
I'd guess that if you just showed up with them they'd just exchange up to whatever you can carry in. If you call first they'll probably tell you to take them to a bank.
just carl
Not sure why you even want to do that. I'd just go to a bank. Even if you had thousands in coins, most banks would take it. As for the Fed's I'd be worried they would want to start an investigation as to why you hav e them, where you got them, how long have you had them, did you pay taxes on them, etc.
