willieboyd2
Maybe the Russians can emulate the American Presidential coins and put famous Russian leaders on the coins. Joseph Stalin ruble Catherine the Great ruble and so on...

tabbs
According to the CBR, they are also changed the material of 10 and 50 kopecks: While I cannot read Russian, this article (in German) also says so ... http://www.aktuell.ru/russland/wirtschaft/...affen_1484.html These two will be steel, not brass any more, it seems. Also, it seems that the CBR wants to do away with the 1 and 5 kopek coins and is in talks with the government about such plans. Well, even 10 kopeks is less than 1 (EUR- or USD-) cent, so I guess that makes sense. Christian
Scottishmoney
When I was in Ukraine there were coins of 1 and 2 kopek that still circulated, that is if you asked about them. But usually the 5 Kopek was the smallest coin you saw, it was worth just a bit less than a eurocent.
