  1. 1000 Shillings Somaliland specimen 2 Pesos Philippines, 1949
  2. I was talking about the old notes, they had their own money and were not independent. Im's sure that soon they are goning to make their new money, there's an article on wikipedia.
  3. The look isn't real, but they have watermarked paper which is like official notes.
  4. I like notes with holographic stripes, but I don't have many. The favorite that I have is 20 pounds with Adam Smith.
  5. Is it like the Somaliland Titanic coin or the Motorcycle coins?
  6. I have one of their coins, but no notes, sadly. And on that note, does Palestine (PLO or whatever their governemnt is called) issue money? I have Palestine stamps, but it probably is from the British mandate period.
  7. Wow, that's big. My largest is a Germany 5000 Mark of 1922, 18,9 x 10,9 cm.
  8. I have Nazi money (5 RM 1941) but not because I support their policies or regime but because it is from an important time period. Also it features the ideal Nazi, blond haired and blu eyes. I guess most people collect them as a curiousity, like when a dictator or regime falls.
  9. I don't trust it very much. And where I am there aren't many coin dealers.
  10. But they didn't declare independence (yet?). There is also the Republic of Texas notes; I don't think they were recognized at all.
  11. Isle of Man, Jersey and Netherlands Antilles had their own notes also, but none of these 5 declared their independence.
  12. When is the Italian note from?
  13. Ayatolla Khomeini. 5000 Rials, Iran Khorloogiin Choibalsan, dictator of Mongolia from the 1930s -1952
  14. Kim Il-Sung on 100 Won of North Korea, 1978.
  15. I really want a Saddam and Gaddafi notes, but I can never find them.
  16. Wow, this one is realy nice, probably the last notes made before the communist control in Poland.
  17. Nice. Tito also has a grain like Chairman Mao on the Chinese notes, but his is bigger.
  18. It is probably just a Philadelphia coin, because many do not have mint marks.
  19. Thank you. So of unrecognized countries only Transnistria and Somaliland have their own notes? I can't find from other declared states.
  20. Ok, thanks. So it's like a publicity money, then.
  21. It really is an interesting theme but it it hard to get some of those notes. But in the same time they can be easy to get, for example you were in Iraq after "Dubya" Bush's invasion.
  22. Nice! Its like the Namibia nots of yours or the new Uganda shillings; I am only missing the 2000 and 50000.
  23. That must be scary! I was never in such dangerous places but my parents were in Croatia in 1990. Also, do you know if the places like Abkazia, South Ossetia, Kosovo, etc. have their own money?
  24. So is it real money, because I can't ind it in the standard catalog while I can find the full section for Transinistria.
  25. I am very interested in collecting notes of dictators. I do not like them at all (they are very cruel to the people) but it's interesting. I don't have all the famous dicators like Saddam or Gaddafi, but I would like to see which others people have. A couple of mine are: Nyazow, the dictator of Turkmenistan on 100 manat Duvalier "Baby Doc" of Haiti on 5 Gourdes. This guy was extreme terrible.
