It is always interesting watching their reactions when they come into the local coin shop to sell them. They can't believe that there isn't some money in the gold plating!
I've given all of mine away over the years. While people do enjoy them their value us minimal.

Nice. I remember when dollar and half dollar coins were standards for slot machines. Ah those marvelous times! I've never really been into gambling but played slots that paid off in gold plated Kennedys & Ikes. Pretty much always won. I think they were considered advertising and had very generous payouts.

Maybe they're planning to expand West Point and produce cents there, thus the addition of the mint mark.

Nice chips. You've got quite a collection of silver chips going.

Looks like a much narrower rim. Variety....good question and well worth the investigative effort.

Sorry to hear about your problem GXSeries. I think this ebay "fraud" stuff is running rampant.

Nicely done. Your display album is expertly done too. That's a wonderful collection.

I got my first 2017 cent in change today.
Scratch that.
I got a 2017-P cent in change today. Philadelphia-made cents are now mintmarked.
News to me -- I hadn't heard they were adding a mintmark to the penny. Is this a known thing and I'm just not paying attention?
It's a new thing starting this year. I didn't know about it but went and did a search. Found a CoinWorld article about it.
Here's the link. http://www.coinworld.com/news/us-coins/2017/01/p-mint-mark-added-to-lincoln-cent-for-first-time.all.html#
