Got really excited over finding a 1973-S cent the other day; I thought it was the 1972-S gaping hole in my album -.-;
Oh well. Should have more time today to search through the penny drawer.
-
Got a F 1940S cent in change from Pat Catan's Craft store. The lady would not look through the drawer to see if there were any more I could get though
Probably because she was upset that she hadn't noticed that she had given you one.

Concurrance.

Can't believe I forgot to post here a few weeks ago!
All at once, while an elementary school was at the skating rink, I got a 1955 quarter, 2003-D Sac (never saw anything past 2001 until then), and a 1978 Deutschmark.

Someone gave me a 1948-S nickel at the register today. I told them they made me very happy!
-
This was a shocker, then again, it's also corroded and mushy looking, but found in a register non-the-less.
1911 Liberty Head "V" Nickel.
Wow, nice find!!!

Wow, tommyd, you have a great eye!

Your signature says you got married on Saturday. Congrats! I hope it all went well and you are in a happy, healthy relationship that'll last your lifetimes!
PS. I'm also glad to see CoinPeople is worth a few moments of your time on such a big big day.
Thanks!
And, you better believe it! Nothing calms the nerves like coins (and people) do.

Today I was at the bank getting into my safe deposit box and there is a coin counting machine in the same room with the boxes in the vault, and sitting by the book where I sign in to the box, there was a coin. At first I thought it was a dime, but I looked closer and it was a 1943 cent! I said to the vault teller, hey, you got a steel cent! She said, yes, do you want it? I said sure and asked if she wanted a penny for it and she said no, since the counting machine rejected it there was nothing for them to do with it so she let me have it! I've never gotten a steel cent in circulation, but this one didn't even cost me a penny!
Very cool!
SIDE NOTE: Used three found-in-change coins for my somethings old, new, and silver "sixpence" : Lincolns 2007 and 1944, then 1946 Dime

I feel the same way: It's one cent more that would have gone to a good cause.
But that doesn't keep me from seriously considering asking for the keys to the locked donation box.

1968-D Kennedy Half at the bank.
-
1944 and 1958-D wheaties laying on the sidewalk!
-
How did you miss it before? Awesome find, though!
-
I have NEVER found a silver nickel. Nickels from '39 and '41, yes, two silver dimes and two silver quarters, yes, but no silver nickels.
-
10 - count them, ten - 40% silver halves from the same bank.
1965 X 2
1967 X 2
1968 D X 3
1969 D X 3

Brought it home especially for you guys.

Got a 1935-S Washington in laundry change today! Made the cashier check the whole drawer after I found it.
-
Sorry to revive this thread out of nowhere, but most of the pictures are gone! Does anyone else have pictures of their beauties?
-
Sorry I meant the quarter.
-
I thought only through '64 were silver. Did I miss something?
-
Do they not accept halves in general?
And why did it reject the '65?
-
I got an idea! How about we post in here when someone DOES find something in the coinstar!
Seconded.
No offense guys, but coming back to this thread genuinely interested in what you found and finding "nothing" all over the posts is a little irritating. Kind of like the boy who cried wolf... well, maybe not that bad

2 - 2000 P sacawagea dollars. Thing is they look like the were freshly broken out of rolls.
And seven years from now we'll be finding Washingtons like that...
P.S. I have never found a War nickel in circulation. Two silver dimes and a silver quarter, but no War nickels.

So, where is the reject tray?
I wish there was a CoinStar somewhere in Rolla; there was one at my old grocery store at my folks' house but I never knew there was a reject tray and I could potentially find silver in it.

Wow, has someone working for Coinstar wised up and shut the reject bin up so we can't get to them or something?
