Oh Art, you are fantastic! Not only did you help me with my quest for sets, but all these extras! This Olympic dollar is actually one of the few I like and was actually going to purchase someday. You are wonderful!

Wonderful site and information!

That sounds like a good way to handle it to me!
Also sounds like a good idea for the feedback part too. Nothing has been lost so with a bit of time, we can get those loaded back up. I will see what I can do about getting them loaded up on the archive and, if not, I can add in the posts myself.
You poor thing. I think I have 8 or so pages of feedback alone!

Here in Euroland the former ("to collectors") are called, surprise, collector(s) coins :-) The others ("to the public") are commemorative coins.

Oh, and I finally managed to take a picture of the coins and sets that I got in the past couple of days. The image is a bit large (about 800 K), so I'll just post the link here:

Wow! A whole thread by Tiffibunny!
Now that was interesting to read through.
Glad this one got saved myself, as I have come back to the images for reference several times.
Said it before, say it again, you have some very nice coins there.
Thanks, I didn't have the energy to do the US one... yet.

I posed the question if we are allowed to do that being that none of us now actually meet the criteria anymore. I'm sure Stu will answer that soon enough.

That's hilarious!

Sorry, about quoting the whole thing, but I cannot live without this thread!

Thanks Christian, very nice coins.

Got that one from Spain too. Here is an image of that €12 coin (unc., in the original bag):

... and this is the €10 piece (proof) issued on the same occasion:

(Not my site/pics.) As for the "12", well, that is a little odd, but it is the equivalent of the former 2000 pesetas coins (12 EUR is 1996.63 ESP). And since such collector coins hardly ever show up in everyday life ... :-)
Yesterday I got the Irish €10 coin dedicated to William Rowan Hamilton (see separate thread) and the Year of Science, by the way. Interesting design ...

12 Euros isn't that an unusual denomination? Do you have a picture of this Aidan?

Gotta hand it to the Europeans. They do mint some very nice coins!

Yes, the Austrian coin is definitely a keeper! Got to give the Austrian Mint credit as most of their coins are very detailed and have strong eye appeal!
