canadamedic
I have purchased the 1999p 1c 5c 10c 25c and 50c coins now, all MS65 ICCS. With only 20,000 mintage I think there's a strong possibility these coins will be worth some very good (excuse the pun) coin some day. I also see the 2000p 5c is even more at 40.00 at MS65 as apposed to 25.00 for the 1999p - 2000 had a mintage of 4.9 mil that year. 2001p 5c has a mintage of 136.6 mil and the MS65 is worth 25.00 (compared to the regular 3.00 for other years). I wonder why that is. Anyways, just wondering what everyone thought of this. Thanks, Brad
ccg
Many of the 1999P were released in the mint packaging (ie. "PL"), so MS aren't exactly uncommon (ICCS does call "PL" coins "MS" at times). The rest of the circulation-issue 1999P coins were a low mintage, so I would expect the quality of them to be better than usual. The 2000P is a circulation key date. I don't think it was ever available in PL sets, so thus a MS65 would have to come from a roll, and not a PL set cut-out. 2001P - I'm using an older catalogue. Is "$3" referring to the c/n 5c issues? I think $25 might be rather on the high side.
canadamedic
I have the Charlton 60th anniversary catalogue and it does say the 2001p 5 cent is 25 dollars. Thanks for the info on the 1999p sets too.
ccg
The catalogue's "off" then, IMO re:$25.
