Medal topped with Kings crown and ribbon. Reverse: Legend: LVITPOLDVS / PRINCEPS REG / REGNI BAV./ VICARIVS NAT. / XII.III.MDCCCXXI / DENAT. / XII.XII.MCMXII (Luitpold, prince regent, kingdom of Bavaria, substitute, born 12 March 1821, died 12 December 1912). The obverse of this piece was designed by Heinrich Wadere but executed and created by Goetz. I was very fortunate to find this piece which apparently came from a very old German collection as the lot contained an old handwritten note in German and dated from 1913.
