bagerap
This is a very heavy black lead cliché of the Cenotaph medal. It comes in at 320 grams and 81 mm and looks to have been made for mounting on a horizontal surface, if the amount of high relief wear is anything to go by. Art1.2
Neat medal. It sure does have wear. Must have seen a lot of good use.
constanius
Very nice. There might be the reverse also in lead somewhere. The first advertisement for this medal inviting readers to apply for specimens appeared on the 1st Nov. 1928. 2 sizes 76mm in gold(only one made), silver or bronze, 32mm in silver or bronze. Interestingly a number of requests were made for examples in other metals but no more information about that. BHM# 4132, Armistice Day Memorial by Charles Leighfield Doman, manufactured by the Royal Mint.
