worldcollectibles310
Does any know about counter stamps? Preferably Government Portugal counter stamps as the one you see in the pic. I have purchased it several months ago, I thought it was pretty cool. This seems to be made for Spain. Any info or references links would be appreciated. Is this a rare coin? Art1.2
Neat looking coin. No help on the counter-stamp but I'm sure interested to hear about it.
John1942Sept
Interesting but I know little about early Portuguese coins.
YeOldeCollector
It might just be me but the coin above looks a little odd - the lettering, the edges and the purple hues make me question its authenticity. I'm no expert on Portuguese coinage, though. What is its precise weight in grams? However, I've read about this counterstamp before and have found the link which will give you plenty to read about: http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php?topic=5727.
