gxseries
I know they aren't common but I wasn't expecting this kind of price for circulated coins! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-2-5-rubles-2003goda-originals-/181520236304?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item2a4372ff10
STEVE MOULDING
Could be nothing more than a surreptitious US - Russia money transfer scheme.
Candidate
I think, it is not a "scheme". And coins are not just "not common" but pretty scarce. Reportedly these 2003 coins were intended for mint sets only, but sets were not issued and coins went into circulation. Mintage (not confirmed officially) is just 15,000 pcs. each. Current market price for 2 and 5 roubles coins ~ approx. $300 each; 1 rouble - $400~$500 in "average" (~XF) condition.
