velikfun
I have found this medal by accident. ~38mm, engravers - "W & H Co Newark"This variety looks different from common "Clevelend" type, and I failed to find any official information about this medal - year, mintage... Will be grateful for any information.

Art1.2
Hello and welcome to CoinPeople. Nothing to add on your medal other than it's a nice looking piece and I like you photograph too.
velikfun
Sad to think that this piece of history will remain unidentified, because I have no clue where I can find more information. Thanks a lot anyway!
thedeadpoint
It'll be identified - we've got some super knowledgeable people here. They might be on vacation though. Thanks for sharing!
ikaros
These are images from this eBay auction; I haven't found reference to it elsewhere, though. There's an entry on So-Called Dollars which has a very similar reverse design; I expect they were engraved from the same reference image. Haven't turned up any further info, unfortunately. velikfun
These are images from this eBay auction; This is my auction. I collect tokens and sell medals that I don't need. Thanks for info about "So called dollars", it was new to me. I have tried to search http://numismatics.org/search/results?q=garfield+memorial , but found only common "Clevelend" type by Childs. ikaros
Now that is what I call an overly well targeted search on my part, then.
