tiredoldman
I bought the two notes (or paper items) shown in the attached scans, over 20 years ago. They were supposed to be Hansatsu, local Japanese currency from the 1700's & 1800's. These two were basically warehouse receipts for a very large amount of rice, issued by a particular clan. I no longer have the receipt with the details. If anyone can recognize these or make a suggestion or at least read the seals, I would be grateful. I sent the scans to a dealer in Hansatsu, hamchan on ebay, and he told me they were just documents. Basically warehouse receipts for sake. Now that I think of it, I remember that is correct. ccg
Would they be banknotes or exonium? Neither. Receipts would fall under ephemera, a different field encompassing paper collectibles.
