Guest Aidan Work
Personally,I think that Krause should publish an Unusual World Banknotes catalogue. It is time for the Chatham Islands notes to be listed. What do you think? mmarotta
I assume that you are thinking of "micro-national" paper money, such as Hutt River Principality. German Notgeld would be a huge book on its own, of course. What about occupation money? I recently acquired two Chinese notes, one issued by a hotel in the 1920s. This medium is extremely complex and deep. What exactly do you propose for parameters and definitions?
MisterMcDoo
A book for local issues and such would be nice... but not from Krause!!! I'm growing more and more disappointed in them as time goes on. I'm not even sure if they have fixed their Dutch values yet. I remember speaking to one of the editors at the last FUN show I went to. He told me it is a lot of work for little profit, so many values are disregarded and go unchanged until the next year. If there is going to be a "unusual" world banknotes cat, it won't be from Krause.

As to occupation banknotes, there are listings of those in Pick Specialised,as well as in the pre-1960 Pick. The 'Black Sheep' notes issued by the Chief Treasury of Wales,Ltd & the Black Sheep Company of Wales,Ltd would need to be listed in an unusual world banknotes catalogue,as does the private banknotes from Cornwall, which came out in the 1970's.
