Inscription within open wreath. TO/COMMEMORATE/THE VISIT OF/ALBERT EDWARD/PRINCE OF WALES/TO/CANADA/1860 It was the first official visit of a senior member of the British Royal Family to North America. The Prince of Wales arrive at St. John's Newfoundland on 24 July 1860, went to Halifax, Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto & other communities. Just took a quick one to show that the WM is silvered and because I take pics of really old stuff normally I am not set up for bright & shiny, even if it is 1860.
