alexbq2
This coin was sold recently at Russian Numismatic House Auction #6 The coin was sold as UNC. Bitkin and Diakov catalogs list 2 variants of this novodel. The first has a larger St George on the obverse, and 3 flags on the right side of the reverse. The second has a smaller version of St. George, and only 2 flags. The coin above has the smaller St. George, but it has 3 flags on the right side of the reverse. Also the reverse side looks worn, while St. George is quite crisp, and the coin is allegedly uncirculated. Could this then ba a mule, made with perhaps an earlier and warn out reverse die, and a newly cut obverse die?
alexbq2
The other Novodel thread reminded me of this one. Isn't anyone intrigued by this undescribed variety? Bitkin and Diakov don't list it, not sure about GM. Or is this old news?
