The Warsaw and Gdansk numismatic auction houses have a combined sale (No. 4) of Polish coins,

including several better quality Russo-Polish pieces:

Can these be legally exported from Poland?

I might be misinformed, but I somehow have the impression that the Polish government frowns on the export of items considered culturally significant.

I don't believe they can be exported. I've asked Polish auction houses in the past and the answer is always a strict "no".

HELLO EVERYBODY ;)

JUST A QUESTION, DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO BUY THIS COINS TROUGH THE EUROPEAN UNION??

REGARDS FROM FRANCE :ninja:

JEAN

I don't think so (unless something changed recently). One reply I got last year:

Dear Sir,

Polish law says "***All*** ! items, not only produced in Poland that are older than 55 years can be exported only after permission of Ministry of Culture and Art in Poland [which takes very long in Poland]. "

We are not asking for permissions. If You win, You have to export it.

Best Regards

(auction house in Poland)

So, I think it's true for any country outside Poland. If anyone knows differently, let me know.
