Blackhawk
Is this fasching thing some sort of celebration in Germany or Pomerania? I see advertising locally for a fasching dance, but don't know much about it.
bobh
Is this fasching thing some sort of celebration in Germany or Pomerania? I see advertising locally for a fasching dance, but don't know much about it. Here's an interesting article about it in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival In Switzerland, there is a local variant in Basel called "Basler Fasnacht". It is really impressive to hear and see the piccolo, flute and drum players who start up around 4 a.m. on Monday morning parading down the streets of Basel. Here is another link to the organizing committee's web site (in English): http://fasnacht.ch/?pm_1=21&mid=
