skouznet Posted October 17, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2009 Оf course, this medal was not made in 1802/3 (L'AN XI), because there is edge marks which were stamped onto the edge of french medals starting from 1841/42. Also, on the left from the metal mark, we can see a special symbol of Paris Mint Director, and this type of edge mark (Cornucopia without date) tell us that the medal was made sometime between 1880 and 1898 or in 1901. So, I can conclude that the medal shown above is the official restrike of Paris Mint.
