I was just placing my recently scanned 1936 quarter rupee

and noticed (playing too much with my loope :ninja:) that several letters in GEORGE V KING EMPEROR were recut. Then I checked my other quaretr rupees and found that 1914 does not show any recuts, one of the 1917'th does have GEO recut and the other (lower quality) does not, both of 1918'th do have many letters recut and both of my 1918'th also have some letters recut.

I will further explore other denominations and rulers but seems a bit unusual unless there was a high wear on dies and very big push for massive production. ANy ideas or experience on this?
