sturzny Posted August 1, 2009 Report Share Posted August 1, 2009 It's not Arabic - it's Sanskrit. So this would place it in the Indian subcontinent. It's difficult but I think I can make out a VS date - maybe 1928 (?) This would put it in the latter half of the 19th century, which is consistent with the style. Doesn't look like any Indian states coin I am familiar with - the trident is often used on Nepalese and Kutch coins but I don't think it's one of those.
