KardGeo
Well folks it was KL before now it's the turn of Dubai. I kno...but hey...someone has to do it! Just a quick post to see if anyone can comment on the Numismatic lay of the land over in Dubai. Will be there for ten days at the end of this month and have already heard the coin museum is a place to visit. Any interesting things to keep an eye out for in the shops? Will of course keep you updated... Cheers, George
thedeadpoint
I was in Doha 9 years ago and the closest I got to a coin shop was in the jewelry souq - occasional sovereigns for sale.
KardGeo
Aye quite a few people tell me that if I keep my eyes open I might be able to pick up some higher grade gold coins at slightly above bullion prices in some of the gold souks.... Can't wait to see if thats true or not. Knowing my luck some great pieces would have been mutilated and mounted as jewellery...Ahhhhhh!
KardGeo
Never bought anything in the end apart from a few books. Museum interesting, especially if you collect Islamic coins... Lots of room for improvement. Shop, reference material, water dispenser etc...
