Arminius
Hello, maybe someone can help to identify this copper: Europe?, 1770 AD.(?), copper (21 mm / 2,13 g), Obv.: PMI / F•A / 1770 , a deer(?) walking left. Rev.: (blank). The dealer told me that it´s a real coin or token - but he couldn´t even remember the direction of attribution. thanks
constanius
I suggest you apply the thumbscrews to the dealer, to help him remember. Very interesting piece. Looks like a cow to me.

elverno
LOL A google search for PMI 1770 brings this thread up as the 4th choice!
bill
LOL A google search for PMI 1770 brings this thread up as the 4th choice! That's the only real problem with formulating google searches based on questions posed here, it almost always links back to the original question. Is that not a good example of circular reasoning ala the web?
Arminius
LOL A google search for PMI 1770 brings this thread up as the 4th choice! We managed it! Currently this thread is 1st choice for the mysterious "PMI 1770" search - a funny side effect. I will try an European forum as i expect the origin of this copper there. Thanks so far!
