Any PR from the Aurea auction yet?

I am interested in knowing prices realized for lots #3613 (50 kop. 1901-FZ) and #3614 (50 kop. 1910-EB).

Here is the page ... you have to scroll down to find it:

Thanks! ;)

Looks like #3614 didn't sell ... ;) ... ???

But #3613 went to me! ;):ninja:

I have to say, the Nicholas II coins you posted here and on the PCI/Titlebar are great looking and make me want to venture into that area. How much do coins of that condition typically cost?

Thanks for the kind words about my coins! :ninja:

It's getting harder and harder to find nice ones of the 50 kopek series; some of the rarer years are literally next to impossible to find in ANY condition. I think building a set of Nicholas II roubles is much easier than the half roubles. Curiously enough, nowadays it also seems to me easier to find the rarer years as proofs than the business strikes.

If you are interested in building a type set, 1912-EB or 1913-BC 50 kop. are fairly easy to find in AU or UNC. There was a slabbed 1913-BC (NGC MS-63) 50k. which went for around $200 recently on eBay. All the years up through 1900 (except for 1898) and after 1910 are fairly easy to find, although it is very hard to find high-grade specimens from the earlier years (although 1899-*, Paris mint, is widely available in higher grades).

I don't dare guess what my 1910 50k. would bring at auction these days. I bought it several years ago from an eBay seller for $200. Today, probably ten times that amount (just like all the other Russian coins in today's market). The 1914 2nd obverse 50k. in my avatar was also an eBay acquisition around the same time as the 1910, maybe a little later. I paid 30€ for it! It has a few very faint hairlines on the obverse not visible in the photo, so I don't know if it would grade MS ... but one in a slab (MS-62, I believe) recently brought over $500 on eBay. I think that prices realized at auction houses with reputations for good Russian coins go even higher than this.

Good luck!

Here are two nice ones from the upcoming Cayón auction:

50 kop. 1913, BU

50 kop. 1913, AU

Unfortunately, they don't specify which mintmaster initials are on the edge.

Would 1913 EB 50 kop be significantly less common and more expensive compared to 1913 BC? I have noticed that Bitkin only slightly differentiates them with respect to price, but that does not go along with recent eBay sales most of which were of the BC variety.
