Blackhawk
I may have posted this here before, but in the event that I did not I want to give it a bit more exposure in the chance that someone may have seen one like it and could shed some light on it. It's the size of a US nickel, and there has been opinion that it may be made from a buffalo nickel. The theme would indicate a French orgin. It appears pretty beat up or worn. Take note of the style of the engravers initials...they look a lot like the ones that are on the aluminum WWII era French coins. Any ideas/speculation on what this is? frank
I've never seen anything like it. I'm looking into the initials... Henri IV was king 1589-1610 (assassinated), one of the most popular kings in French history. The portraits look like they're based on late-19th or 20th century engravings. Pretty interesting.
