It appears that this was yet another "private" auction ("Winning bidder: User ID kept private") born, no doubt, of ebay's entirely altruistic and benevolent concern for the "lucky" winner's privacy. The "lucky" winner might end up liking the coin a lot less if he/she ever tries to sell or consign it to a knowledgeable and ethical dealer. Vfox Posted September 25, 2008 Report Share Posted September 25, 2008 Ouch, obvious fake. Not only is the patina a bad one but the transfer bumps stick out like a sore thumb on the lettered side.
