corkykile
Hi Corina, Nice find! Did this one have any siblings with similar 'disabilities'? Sure do like it when I get a handful of either circ's or bu's and find more than one with the anomaly. It is surprising to get coins from different places and find they have the same die break or crack. And more surprising to get coins that are bu that match circ's of the same date and mintmark that have the same anomaly. Love surprises! Corina
Well now someone told me it's not a die break but a double die Great now i have two types of ID on this coin Question is which one is the correct ID? Nope bought this one off a dealer here in town
corkykile
Went through my Lincoln cents book and the coppercoins.com site and cannot find yours in either place. Maybe an overall search of error sites is in order. Maybe whomever told you the stories needs to explain why they think it is what they think it is. A few days ago I caught one dealer off-guard with a D/D mm, and he was surprised I found it... wanted to buy one of the two I have. Wouldn't it be fun if you found a altogether new variety? Corina
Well some people have said that there is doubling on the top of the last 5 And others think it's a die crack cause of the way the 5 looks All i know it was called a error date by the coin shop
corkykile
All i know it was called a error date by the coin shop Corina, Doggone the experts... if they can't figure it out, then who can? Sure isn't any fun being in limbo about the classification of these anomalies. Keep on searching. Corky
