Dave Posted September 30, 2007 Report Share Posted September 30, 2007 I just returned from a trip to Alaska - oh, the rugged beauty of the untamed wilderness, the bears, the fall colors, the mountains, the whales, the glaciers... and the rain! But I found in Juneau a most unlikely thing: A scale that was from the Philly Mint. towards the bottom was a dated plate that had it from 1891, while a separate date plate on the plaque may be an indication of the date it was rebuilt.
