gxseries
It seems to be a 1704 denga with the variety of the reverse legend "Autocrat". (Uzd 2267) While Uzedenikov didn't mark it as rare or such, it's usually difficult to find such coins minted 300 years ago without much corrosion, wear etc. What is more interesting is that the planchet was either flatten out too much, or it planchet size wasn't uniform at that time. I am guessing that it is likely to be genuine and if it is, the value might be probably 50-80+ due to it's condition but do not quote me on that. grivna1726
What about this coin? Thanks. I agree with what gx said. The only thing I might add is that there are a huge number of die varieties, the major ones being in the inscription, using "autocrat" or "ruler" in the legend. These then exist with varieties of dots, rosettes, dots with crosses on the side opposite the eagle at 12 o'clock. While I'm not a specialist in Petrine copper, based on the examples I have seen over the years, your coin looks like an attractive example for this very crude copper series. I think it's a nice type coin. Do you specialise in Russian copper or Russian coins in general, or are you a general world coin collector who has a few Russian coins in your collection? Lenit2
Thank you very much for the information. I am not a specialist of Russian coins but I have a small collection. Most of them are contemporary coins.
