susieq Posted September 28, 2006 Author Report Share Posted September 28, 2006 This is a reply to myself - poor pitiful me Actually, tracing these coins has been fun, led me to the distributor of WWF stamps in Switzerland, Hans Groth (www.wwfstamps.com), who knew all about them. They were probably minted in the US, authorized by the Cook Islands but not by WWF, then distributed by a coin seller in Braunschweig, Germany (MDM) in violation of the WWF copyright. We've still trying to find out exactly how many sets were minted. Tracing coins can be very interesting - one meets all kinds of nice people.........
