I haven't seen any but i think i know a place i'll be able to get them from. I've been thinking about it for a while.
I've accumulated it from buying wallets and shoes etc. where there is a sachet already in.
Like Aethling, I store my coins in a cabinet in an armoire. My BU coins, or ones with relative amounts of lustre are stored in Airtites in the cabinet. In fact, any remotely valuable coin goes in an Airtite, or one that would be susceptible to oxidation etc.

This is a debate that started on another forum but due to the complex nature i thought it might be useful and intriguing to bring it up on this forum too.
What date do you consider to be the cut-off point between old and modern coins?
William IV onwards, so around 1840ish. I'd consider uber-modern as George VI onwards.

1) Create a Coinpeople Logo, the one on design 1 has been updated a little. And replace th Shrek theme with a logo.
I was scouting around for a logo but realised there actually isn't one. I don't think I'm skilled enough to make a logo, however.

Am I unique in saying I've never lost one?
All my coins are kept in my cabinet, with the some other ones in an album (which I rarely get out). So it's just a case of counting them out of the cabinet and ensuring they all go back in. I couldn't imagine losing one, or even having them stolen.

I couldn't find the exact wording of the petition but I did find a picture of it here.
It reads:
THOMAS SIMON . MOST HVMBLY . PRAYS . YOUR . MAJESTY TO . COMPARE . THIS . HIS . TRYALL . PIECE . WITH . THE . DVTCH . AND . IF . MORE (second line) TRVLY . DRAWN & EMBOSS'D . MORE . GRACE : FVLLY . ORDER'D . AND . MORE . ACCVRATELY . ENGRAVEN . TO . RELIEVE . HIM.

Thanks Art. This happened many moons ago. I was just transferring the whole history of OC news.
I was going to say as if it hasn't happened sooner!
Good job.

I voted for #1 because I don't think it is fair that only certain people get to be on the money. It would be easier just to have the money more uniform without users ids or avatars.
I had that trouble when I designed mine. If there were a CP logo, then that would replace Shrek.

You're all in the past. 1.04 is the way forward!
The update icon has been red for about a week and I didn't get round to downloading it. Just did it now and there's no palpable change; probably behind the scenes stuff.

Wonderful!
Oli that is the best yet undoubtedly. Although there is one slight question raised by the inclusion of Shrek and that is Copyright. Could printing off say 6000 Shrek notes not be a bit open to a legal minefield?
It was just used to demonstrate what could be put there. I thought who better than our dear leader

I had a bash but got a bit carried away.

Since everyone's going signature crazy, I made one too. With an orb and a photoshopped picture of myself

I just got my Large Cent Attribution Guide for 1840-1857 in today's mail. It's commonly called the Grellman book. Very neat book.
More coin books should be leather bound (or faux leather in this case)

Yeah, I saw that, too, Oli ... troubling, isn't it
Especially if, like me, you can't spot artificial toning.
I can tend to spot the really obvious stuff, but if that kit toned like you 6d above, I wouldn't know the difference.
-
You guys like toned British coins, too ???
Cool !!! I just love 'em
Not quite. I discovered this on eBay a while ago, which we have been discussing on Predecimal. Rather worrying.
-
The clasps holding the top die came off, causing it to shift and give the coin a nice scratch on the side with the text.
I smell L@@K Ultra-Rare ERROR! in the works.
-
I bet there will be a few of our "toner" boys lurking.
They are noted.

1794 Halfpenny sized Conder Token. Somersetshire, Bath. Botanic Gardens Gate. Scriptures. Tree and ruins. Scriptures. DH.26
Love this one!

I totally misread the title of this. I thought a woman had stuffed her son in a stove in a Hansel and Gretel-esque situation.

Anything is possible in Russia. Once in a cash strapped museum in Khabarovsk, the director tried to sell me some of their collections.
Did you get anything?

I made it here safe and well; alas, I can't say the same for my old profile! I'll have to get the avatar setup etc, but this new board is great! Well done Anton.
