  1. Sold it on eBay for £147, so am very pleased, as it was part of my ''20 tokens for £30 deal'', so I'd effectively only paid £1.50 for it!!!!
  2. Its a spade guinea token, not worth much more than £3
  3. Evening, Any Co-Op token experts out there? Is an 8d Brightside & Carbrook Co-Op token worth much, as I've just listed one on eBay and within an hour, there's quite a bit of interest already. (Brightside & Carbrook apparently ended up as being Sheffield Co-Op) Regards Simon
  4. Ok, Have acquired some London Bridge tokens but have a bit of a mystery to solve.... Out of 8 tokens, I have six like this They are brass and state that the carriageway was 33.5 ft wide, length was 782ft, centre arch 150ft, side arch 140ft. On the reverse they say that the first stone was laid by John Garratt Esq, Lord Mayor of London on 14th March 1824 & opened by Their Majesties on 1st August 1831 Ok, one was identical in a white medal, as below, with all the same detail But, and this is where the mystery starts, the last one is also in white metal but states that the carriageway is 36ft, length 923ft, centre arch 152ft. On the reverse it mentions John Garratt but says he laid the first stone on 15th June 1825. It also mentions that the project cost £506,000. Even more perplexing is that in the image of the bridge, St Pauls Cathedral has disappeared!!! Does anyone know anything about these tokens who can offer any information or advice Thanks
  5. Hi, My main interest is George III Spade Guinea Tokens but also like Chaplin tokens & Pidcock tokens
  6. Hi, Got this token from CoinEx 2013 in London. My research tells me that Lena De Merville is a famous brothel house madam from Paris but this token is addressed as 106 West 50. Street, New York, which was right in the heart of the known brothel area. Can anyone identify it 100% and what its likely value is as I've seen a Merville New York token previously sell for $600
  7. Hi ''YeOldeCollector'' Thanks for that info. What do you think its worth as I was going to put it onto eBay
  8. Hi, My name is Simon and I'm based in England. Would like to say hello to everyone on here.
  9. Hi, I am Simon from the UK, Purchased some tokens yesterday and in amongst them was this coin. I don't think its a British hammered coin. Can anyone help to identify it please? It appears to have a king standing upright, facing left with a sword in his hand and a crown on his head. Regards Simon
