  1. A well struck Polupoltinnik in amazing condition too. ;)

I'll scan my 1745 Swiss Half Thaler (Zurich) in anticipation of someone producing a 1746.

After that I want to pre-register for 1743, as I have two coins from that date that I am very proud of.

If you have ever looked at one of your coins and thought "How it is possible that I was able to find something so rare and beautiful as this?",

well that applies to both my 1743's...:ninja:

  2. (Technically not a Canton Basel but a Bishopric Basel...)

Received this today and I couldn't be happier...

It's a quarter taler, the first one I have ever seen, and in incredible condition.

  3. I'll post a 1753 Swiss gold 1/4 ducat tomorrow.

And a 1752 14 Liard from Liege (Belgium) if I can find it.

After that I can offer a 1751 Netherlands Silver 10 Stuiver, then a 1750 Netherlands 14 Guilder Gold Rider.

Right now I am working to pay for this stuff... :ninja:

  4. how much do those 1910 Bern Shooting Medals go for?

There are two 1910 Bern varieties that I personally know of.

The one in my photos is silver and is a RICHTER 172. They used to cost about $50 but recently I had to bid over $75 for one.

It was also issued in nickel (RICHTER 263b) and they seem to go for about the same price. I have one that graded NGC MS64 and is VERY nice.

Does anyone know how many of these were issued in both types?

  5. I am loving this thread. The quality of engraving on these medals is wonderful.

Ditto on loving this thread. In fact this is how I found this forum.

Here is one of my Swiss Shooting Medals, a 1910 from Bern.

I have several others and will post photos or scans as time permits.

I own the 1892 Glarus and the 1895 Zurich that Ian posted, about the same quality too, suggesting we both bought from the same excellent Swiss seller from Winterthur.

  6. I'm afraid I haven't got anything until 1721. :ninja:

    I have a 1753, a 1752, a 1751 and several 1750's but not even one 1756.

I'll keep looking, I may have had a 1756 Dutch gold ducat that I photographed before I sold it. Does that count?

If we get to 1739 I have a pretty amazing duit to show off...
