You might find better luck with two 5 ruble coins. Much more commonly found, i believe.

and that way you could display one heads and one tails, for your exhibit. just a thought.

well... recently I have bought the below 5 roubles ... 1900 (a common date) and I paid 250 euro in a UNC condition... I believe prices since 2005 have been raising up a lot .. coz the Russian are raking the market ..

I bought without certification but from an auction where it is almost impossible people sell fake... by the way, after you are on the market since long time, you understand if what is sold is a fake or not.

Let me add, among other, that UNC roubles if certified by NCG increase their value even 3/4 times more, thus becomes very expensive afford those coins.

By the way, i am married with an ukrainian woman and i have inherited a nice collection of russian coins from her father ))

The Romanov Tercentenary rouble is also the only Russian coin you can get with a portrait of Michael Romanov.

This coin sides orientation is more rare, AFAIK.

Sorry eugene, but this coin is inscribed upwards, thus is not the rarest one ...

the most valuable is the opposite, mean inscribed downwards...

The first is a 'common' 5 kopecks, 1770, most probably a EM (Ekaterinenburg mint), look the other side and read the letters printed. it looks quite well preserved.

the second one, i really doubt it is original, but if it is, you are really a lucky man buddy, this is a 5 kopecks of special issues in copper, squared .

i cannot see clearly the pictures, but look at the chest of the eagle, you can find the emblme of moscow or not. In both cases, the coin is an excessively rare one !
