Rochester, Kent, England token issued by Alice Cobham in 1651 for one farthing. An interesting piece, this has a family crest on the obverse with her name, and a horse and bells on the reverse.

Guess that was the message from Latvia (and some others) to the EU: I may be small, but don't underestimate me.
Christian
Yep, that about sums up the Latvijan personalities

Philippines-5 centavos 1944-s
GB-farthing 1953
Canada-5 cents 1933
Portugal-4 centavos 1919 I liked Україна Двi's PCI entry so much I had to get one for myself!!
Don't collect Portuguese coins ! There is nothing to collect there, just move along and pick on a country like Finland or something

Now the French are going overboard in their desire to mend the fence with the USA
But yes, it is an appropriate commem though.

Saw a bunch of wheaties while filling in for a teller at work, all common dates from the fifties, one 1941, but I passed and sent them to do their job in the nations commerce...
What if they get torchured by a future owner, how would you feel then?

If I remember correctly Kyle also minted some Roman coin lookalikes also. I wanted to order one, but never got a chance to.
Stujoe - thanks for posting the image. Now I will look into finding these.

Okay, I minted my own coins back when I was in high school. I used aluminium dies and lead blanks made from air rifle pellets. I engraved the dies and minted the coins using a screw vice.
I still have the dies and the coins somewhere, but I haven't seen them in some time.

Portrait medal of the famous WWI fighter pilot killed on the Somme battlefield on April 21, 1918. Richthofen was probably the finest airman the world had ever seen. He was not only a good fighter but also the noblest on the German side. He had the reputation of never killing an enemy after he had him “cold” in his sights. After forcing an opponent down he often landed beside him, helped him from his machine, and saw that he was honorably treated. Richthofen was buried by the British with full military honors.
WWI was definately the first of the truly terrible wars, but it was also the one with the last of the chivalry.
The symbolism of the German eagle looking skyward is telling of the emotion of the piece.
Thanks for sharing.

Merci beaucoup pour les monnaies Francaise de la XXeme.
Very happy with my French silver coins from the 1918 era. Great seller, have bought from repeatedly, and always pleased.

Interesting linen bag from the Royal Canadian Mint, dated 1963 it held $60 worth of Canadian cents that year. I wonder why $60 and not $50, unless the Canadians just wanted to be different eh?
Also an early 1960's Federal Reserve Bank bag from the FRB in Chicago.
No, I don't collect these, they have uses, like storing bulk lots of British pennies etc.

1919 wheatie from the Chevron gas station in Chilliwack
I got a 1918 from a Chevron in California once, I think it is my earliest coin ever from circulation. On that trip, about 2 weeks, I came back with several early Jeffersons, a silver dime, and several wheaties.
I worked for Chevron for 7 yrs so I think they owed me

Well today my daughter got a very convincing 1847 counterfeit Seated Liberty Dollar, and a 1917 USA One Dollar bill, she is on cloud ten right now. She still can't believe the USA made such large dollar bills.

Hopefully tomorrows mail run brings a package from unclebobo, and an envelope from tiffybunny. Those are my daughters allowance for last week. She is getting antsy for them already.

Done well with wheats this week, a 1947 again, and 1951. The 1951 actually was handed to me with the rest of a payment from a customer, I saw the wheat stalks when it was in the customers hand.

I lost my purple stamp
