  1. ;):ninja: One of my snakeys suffered a sudden and untimely death today. Whoever comes up with the best snakey eulogy before my next day off (hopefully, that will be Sunday) will get all the coins and notes I pull from circulation before then that I would normally snag for my compulsive hoarding. This would normally include at least one or two star notes, some half dollars, war nickels, wheaties, and other random junk... feel free to write as many entries as you like, in any tone you like (tear-jerkers and jokes are equally welcome).

(P.S. Dan--- any mention of a mongoose will disqualify your entry ;) )

  2. I've recieved a few really cool freebies from various CP's lately, so I figured it is time for me to start giving stuff away, too. I'm just going to start with the stuff my friend Kevin sold to me tonight (it's easier to get rid of stuff that hasn't technically joined my collection yet). He pulled all of them from circulation, and all show varying degrees of usage.

The winners of this contest will be determined by dumb luck... just post here and the winners will be randomly selected by my nieces when they visit me later this week (exact date unknown).

Prize #1: 2 1995 $2 bills --- F58575712A and F58575713A. If that doesn't do anything for ya, they still make nice tips.

Prize #2: Seven bucks... consecutive ones. L33956304J- L33956310J. Nothing special, but seven free bucks (shrugs).

Prize #3: A bicentennial Ike, a bicentennial kennedy half, and a '99 Kennedy half (again, good tips, if nothing else).

Prize #4: A '67 Kennedy Half, and some war nickels.

All names will be put in together, and the winners will be drawn by Caitlin, Stacey, Hailey and Riley in the order shown. Now sign up so I think people like me! :ninja:

  3. I save interesting #s I come across in circulation... really not worth more than face value, but fun to have. Sadly, the lowest I have found was a 00001637. I have about 15 or 20 bills that I have come across with 5 or 6 of the same # repeated in a row. I'd have to look through my world notes for my strangest #s, which is probably a pretty good sign that I don't have an fantastic ones.

  4. I've recieved blank planchets as bonus coins on error order of $100 or more from a few different sellers. They aren't really high-priced, but they are quite cool, and they always seem to impress non-collectors more than any of my other error pennies. Go figure.

Where did you get yours from?

  5. It is a two-for-one thread. Name an album, and I'll most likely already have one or two of them sitting around unused. While they are by far the most common gift I recieve, I've never attempted to fill an album, but another thread here has given me the urge to see what it is like. So...

    1)What was your first album?

2)What would be a good first album for me? Ideally, it would be neither prohibitively difficult to fill, or so easy to fill that it would be pointless and dull. Just a good album to give me an idea of the general experience.

    Thanks :ninja: .

  6. I have about a billion and one state quarters albums, none with anything in them. I don't intend to fill them any time soon. All gifts.

I have a smattering of other us-coin albums, but if they have anything at all in them, it is only world coins of the same size... never kept an album with the coins intended for it, maybe I'll have to try it.

  7. Oh, these are borrowed scans. I'd love to have the serial no. on the first one.

I love the piano on the reverse of the 100.

But most of all... how it says "banknote" on them. It makes me crack up. :ninja:

    Aaaaaaaaaah, tricked me.

    That is kinda funny,though.
