  1. Whoops......sloppy link in my post. Updated with the correct 1658 link and 1654 will go back into the dugout.

For some reason by roadrunner hosting account has now decided to be unresponsive, so image is not yet appearing. I am just a mess today.

  2. Lets continue this march backwards with a german state taler from cologne (koln) dated 1688. This is a 1 year type issued to commemorate the empty seat (sede vacante) after the death of Maximilian Heinrich of Bavaria who was the Archbishop of Cologne from 1650 to 1688.

This is one of the favorite coins in my collection.

  3. 1698 - German taler from Osnabruck - 1 year issue. Interestingly, the date on this taler is a chronogram, which is the date spelled in roman numerals within the legend around the reverse of the coin.

I am getting close to the end of my contributions for awhile.

  4. grivna1716 - that is another amazing coin. Tough to find anything like that in todays market I imagine.

Here is my last contribution for a few years to come. Its a 1715 sede vacante taler from the german city state of Osnabruck. Its a 1 year issue struck to commemorate the death of the bishop. I really fell in love with these sede vacante pieces.

  5. That is a tough issue to find these days gxseries.

This is one of the favorites in my collection. It is a 1 year sede vacante issue taler from the german state of Paderborn. It was issued to commemorate the death of the bishop in 1719.
