Rabone
The book title is "The Comprehensive U.S. Silver Dollar Encyclopedia" (Hardcover edition) written by a John W. Highfill. 1233 pages, published in April of 1992. This is one of the few numismatic books my local library has on its shelf. Today at a used book store I saw another copy of it, and sat and flipped through it again. It is suppose to be an encyclopedia on U.S. Silver Dollars, but at times it looks more like a PR release for the author and wife, or a family photo album. Anyway, does anyone have this book, and if so, what reference material have you gleaned out of it? The reviewer from Library Journal posted at amazon.com said "...getting through the massive amount of text almost requires a circulating copy." That is true, there is a lot of words in this thing. Anyway, anyone willing to shed some light on this massive bound volume?
stu62
Its written in 1992 so its dated. There are dozens of pictures of people with late '80's early 90's hairstyles what this has to do with coins I don't know.I glance at it at the library but I wouldn't buy it.
