bill Posted June 30, 2009 Report Share Posted June 30, 2009 Centennial of the 1783 Evacuation of New York struck in white metal. The obverse features Washington taking the oath of office as president in New York in 1789. I know nothing about the medal. I picked it up in a local antique store as a piece worthy of further study one day. It is signed along the base of the battlements on the reverse, but I have not yet been able to decipher the lettering. If anyone can add more information, it would be appreciated.
