fiftyf1
I have a 1963 five dollar note and the numerals are red instead of green. The signature is C. Douglas Dillon with a red seal would like to know more about it.
MisterMcDoo
You have a USN (united states note) as opposed to a FRN (federal reserve note). Look at the top and you can see where it says United States note instead of Federal Reserve. FRNs are the only notes to have been issued since the 1960s. You're probably the most familiar with them, they have a green seal.
fiftyf1
thank you for the information, could you give me rough estimate on a fair condition note from 1963
MisterMcDoo
Probably $5... maybe $5.50. It takes older issues and/or excellent condition for red seals to be "worth" anything more than face value.
