The right decade can be a subjective matter and may vary depending on various factors. However, I can provide some insight into popular decades among coin collectors based on historical trends up to my last update .

Late 19th to Early 20th Century (1880s-1920s): This period is considered significant for coin collectors due to the introduction of various iconic and historical coins. For example, the Morgan Silver Dollar (1878-1921) and the Indian Head Penny (1859-1909) are highly sought-after coins from this era.

Mid-20th Century (1940s-1960s): During this period, several interesting and iconic coins were minted, including the Franklin Half Dollar (1948-1963) and the Roosevelt Dime (1946-present).

Pre-1933 Gold Coins: Collecting gold coins from the 19th and early 20th centuries is popular due to their historical significance and intrinsic value.

Commemorative Coins (Modern Era): The late 20th and early 21st centuries saw the issuance of many commemorative coins celebrating important events, historical figures, and anniversaries. These coins often have unique designs and limited mintages, making them appealing to collectors.

1970s-1980s: Some collectors focus on coins from this period as they might still find them in circulation or at more affordable prices due to their relatively recent minting.

It's essential to note that the "best" decade for coin collecting can vary based on personal preferences, historical interests, and the type of coins you want to collect (e.g., ancient, modern, rare, commemorative, etc.). If you're interested in starting a coin collection, it's a good idea to research various coins and eras to determine what aligns best with your collecting goals. Also, consider consulting with experienced numismatists or coin dealers who can offer valuable advice based on current market trends and opportunities
