Art1.2
I took a look on ebay at copper rounds and bars. Some really interesting designs available. And the prices -- wow!. They're all over the place. You can get copper 1oz rounds for 70 cents each up to 3 or 4 dollars each. I like the idea of some of the 1 pound bars. I think I'll start in 2016 putting a pound aside for each great grandchild each month. By the time they're my age it should be worth at least some premium. Art1.2
By the way the pound bars and rounds would make great paperweights.
Art1.2
So I looked at Amazon and ebay (again) last night on the pound bars. I can't believe the price differences. Of course S&H costs alone would never be recovered by metal price increases in my lifetime. Maybe I'll take a look at the local coin show in Feb. If the prices are good, I can just go ahead and get a year's worth at the show.
Circus
Yep the spot price this morning is $1.75/lb for bright copper or less depending on how bad the local yard is ripping its customers off. I will look at what the LCS is selling the pound ingots for next visit. I think they were around $20.00 Yes the copper rounds are all over the place on price. What is funny to me there are two vendors that generally set up at the local monthly gun shows. One has prices that are reasonable the other guy's prices are 2 to 3 times the first price and he can't figure out why he isn't selling many of the rounds. The Chris Kyles ones are a little higher due to the fact they are raising money for the foundation.

I've found pound bars for as low as 5.90 and has high as 24.00. Buyer beware. I'll probably not mess much with copper at the price over melt these days. Silver is still a great bargain and I might just go with an ASE for each of the Great-grandkids each month. Again there's a savings to but in quantity but not very much.
